We were on a flying visit to London last week after our time in Croatia. It was time to catch up with some old friends. We had a blast! Hopefully it wont be so long before we catch up again. Good times, good times.

I’ve had a fascination with panoramic photographs for some time. Ever since I had one of those Early Canon IXUS point and shoot digital cameras that had a panorama or stitch mode.

That camera is long in Camera Heaven, but I’ve been collecting panorama shot collections from my digital SLR for some time without the ability to create them (read haven’t looked at how to do it).

I don’t have or use photoshop so I finally bothered to look around at how to create panoramas and found a piece of software call Hugin.

What better way to try it out than on some shots that I took when we recently visited the beautiful Croatia?

I hope you enjoy the shots.  I took them all on my Canon 40D, freehand with about 6 photos each.  I noticed that in checking back that I some were on full manual (better I think for consistent settings) and Aperture Priority.

It’s important that the aperture remains the same for a consistent depth of field (area in focus) so that the images look good.  Looking back, it would be better to take them in full Manual mode to ensure that the settings are consistent for each photo.  You would need to take a measure of the exposure across the panorama though to get it right.

Not typically two terms you hear together but I thought they sounded great together. That’s why Jody and I got engaged while we were in China. Apart from Jody being quite blunt that she thought that it would happen while we away, it was a romantic affair at M on the Bund in Shanghai. So, we are to be wed.

Jode’s and I decided to hit the big-city lights of Brisvegas for Easter this year to hang out with Nathan. Considering he can be as boring as bat shit (jokes!) and there’s nothing to do in Brisbane, it was lucky that Adam and Anna decided to come up from Melbourne to have some fun as well! A great time had by all I must say.  We had so much fun we had to take a couple of trips down towards the Goldcoast to visit some fantastic attractions in Seaworld and Wet & Wild.  Good fun, really!  We also managed to chow down on some pretty fantastic steak at Char Char Char in the city and a partake in a feast of feasts hosted by Nath’s gem of a mum (I’m still recovering Susie Q!).

We jetted off to sunny, south-of-the-border Melbourne for a shin-dig of epic proportions to celebrate the arrival of our favourite family in a new home. ……

Well, this post is a little dated as we headed to the goldcoast in June.  It’s now August.  Enough said. ……
