Ausmericana (with a Spanish / Mexican accent), yes that’s Ausmericana.  It’s what happens when you bring some Americans to Australia to celebrate a Mexican historical holiday – Cinco de Mayo.  Arriba!

What a milestone! Our fantastic Mum has hit the half century. Jode’s and I headed to Perth (thankfully – a little closer than Tom Price) at the end of March for the big birthday bash weekend with Mum, Dad and Jody (Y) and Kim. We arrived on the Thursday night, flew out on the Monday and breathed a sigh of relief at the much better deal than the shotgun fly-in-fly-out exercise we usually do.  We celebrated the momentous occasion with food, fun and photos… and drink. We dined at the C Restaurant at the top of the AAPT town in the city. It’s a rotating restaurant which was definitely fun. We also had some family pics with a professional photographer for posterity. They turned out pretty well as well! Mum also picked up the new mutt. Milly? Messy? Minnie? I don’t know… I was never good with names.

Jode’s and I decided to hit the big-city lights of Brisvegas for Easter this year to hang out with Nathan. Considering he can be as boring as bat shit (jokes!) and there’s nothing to do in Brisbane, it was lucky that Adam and Anna decided to come up from Melbourne to have some fun as well! A great time had by all I must say.  We had so much fun we had to take a couple of trips down towards the Goldcoast to visit some fantastic attractions in Seaworld and Wet & Wild.  Good fun, really!  We also managed to chow down on some pretty fantastic steak at Char Char Char in the city and a partake in a feast of feasts hosted by Nath’s gem of a mum (I’m still recovering Susie Q!).

Well, our little Shelly is pushing the envelope and decided to celebrate her last year as a 20-something with some food, booze and fun. There were people, there were presents, there were sword fights with long pieces of bamboo. A great night for all! Check out the photo’s.

It’s scary stepping outside of your comform zone, but that’s just what the Yum Cha Club did this time around. There were rumours of a great Yum Cha place in Eastwood in Sydney, ……

So Sydney received two royal visitors on the 20th of February. Some of us aren’t lucky enough to have a royal view of the harbour from where we live – unlike our own Mr Goldberg (I’m not jealous). He managed to get some picks of the mammoth ship and her little sibling.

So after a bit of a hiatus, the Yum Cha Challenge Team returns for the new year. The new year brought new pastures and the team headed out of the centre of Sydney to Chatswood to visit Kam Fook.  ……

So Movember has been and gone and many people have been traumatised by the high incidence of forests of hair on the upper lip of the male populous. Even if it was for a good cause (Men’s health). ……
