Prawn and Chorizo Paella – The Ducks Nuts!
Sunday
Jan 27, 2008
Jodes and I made a great Prawn and Chorizo Paella (Pa-aya) from The Good Weekend (The Sydney Morning Herald weekend magazine) a few months ago. It tasted so good that I thought that I would throw the recipe away! So after buying the prawn and chorizo and realising that the recipe was not to be found, my obsessive compulsive stupidity was rescued by the wonders of the Interweb. I found this stonking recipe and we relived the dream. We just followed the directions, put twice as many prawns in and skipped the Scallops. What more could you want?

Gordon’s 90th Birthday
Tuesday
Oct 2, 2007
It’s not every day that you see 90 of something. It’s not every day that you get a chance to hear the “meaning of life” (thanks Ian). We were lucky enough to do both on Sunday with the celebration of Gordon Goodwin’s 90th birthday. A man of fine taste (Verdehlo, Sauvignon Blanc, Whisky, Classical Music – Refer to the headphones), fine stories, reading and a loving family and friends. A celebration worthy of such a milestone was held and fun was had by all. Have a look at the slideshow, or the photo album.
… and the meaning of life? Love.
China and Marriage
Wednesday
Sep 26, 2007
Not typically two terms you hear together but I thought they sounded great together. That’s why Jody and I got engaged while we were in China. Apart from Jody being quite blunt that she thought that it would happen while we away, it was a romantic affair at M on the Bund in Shanghai. So, we are to be wed.
Here’s us with the Shanghai business district views in the background.
Here’s the slideshow or the album of the pics from the trip.

La Grande Bouffe
Friday
Jul 20, 2007
Or was it Le Grande Bouffe? Either way, because Paul turned 58 today, and he isn’t going to get enough French food when he and Trish head to France in a couple of weeks, we thought it would be a good idea to hit a local French restaurant. Salmon followed by Rabbit. Tasty treats I tell ya. Happy Birthday Paul!
7.7.07 – Live Earth – You work out the date…
Saturday
Jul 7, 2007
So, it’s about time we had another global concert to raise awareness about something. I don’t know what it is in Australia that’s suddenly propelled “the environment” into the mainstream but I something tells me it’s an election looming. Cynicism aside, Live Earth is a great way to reinforce that everybody should be informed, everyone should participate, and a lot of small actions amount to a HEAP of change - so make your choice. Every little bit helps.

East Ocean Restaurant
Sunday
May 20, 2007
The East Ocean Restaurant was floated at the last minute by Craigy. The Yum Cha Challenge doesn’t typically accept submissions on the day. In this case however, The Challenge was willing to make an exception as we were all bored and had nothing better to do other than stuff our faces full of tasty fare. ……
Go the shared birthday bash
Sunday
May 20, 2007
To celebrate the fact that May is a great month for being born, Greg, Sunna and myself decided that it was high time to share the birthday experience. The day consisted of some lawn bowls in Camperdown followed by a one pub pub crawl starting and ending at The Court House in Newtown. Well, that’s not entirely true as a few die-hards ended up scattered around some respectable night spots throughout the area like to the North Annandale Hotel.
Jody’s 30th Bash Weekend
Sunday
May 13, 2007
30 years of planning finally came to fruition this weekend as the people from various walks of live descended on Hyams Beach in the beautiful surrounds of Jervis Bay on the NSW south coast. We had people from the Bathurst Mafia, the Yum Cha Club, the Balmain Massive, the Annandale Massive, the Goodwin clan, the Newcastle Massive, the Brisvegas Elite, the North Melbourne Massive… need I go on? Needless to say, a great weekend of fun and frivolity ensued. A big thanks to all those that attended to celebrate a special moment for a special lady!
The weekend event was a secondary one after the family gig held earlier in the week.
