The East Ocean Restaurant was floated at the last minute by Craigy. The Yum Cha Challenge doesn’t typically accept submissions on the day. In this case however, The Challenge was willing to make an exception as we were all bored and had nothing better to do other than stuff our faces full of tasty fare.
The East Ocean Restaurant is located on Sussex Street in China Town and is a large establishment with a bustling atmosphere, and a long queue if you don’t time it right. But it’s definitely worth the wait – as you’ll see the rating speak for themselves! The Yum Cha Challenge gave it thumbs up all round (after they’d finished licking the mango and cream from their fingers).
Highlights – Great atmosphere, fantastic mango pancakes (the best yet!) and Neil wasn’t throwing the voting into chaos with his campaigning.
Lowlights – Requiring just a few more dumplings to walk out feeling suitably overindulged and unable to get the dumpling trolley.
